The Ghosts of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base: TAPS Will To Investigate
By Bill Knell
An upcoming episode of Ghost Hunters will feature a segment filmed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Buildings 219 and 70 are said to be the focus of the investigation which involves the sighting of a ghostly young boy in Building 219 and the ghost of an older woman seen in Building 70. Too bad they will not invite UFO Investigators into Wright-Patterson. Imagine what they might turn up.
According to official statements and press reports from that time, Wright-Patterson is one of the places where material from the infamous 1947 Roswell UFO Crash was brought. It’s also the home of the legendary Hagar 18 where UFOs and Aliens may have been kept and studied at one time. When the late Senator and Reserve Air Force General Barry Goldwater requested entrance to the area where UFOs were kept many years ago, he was told by General Curtis LeMay that he couldn’t go into that area because he didn’t have the security clearance.
If you enjoy looking at historic military aircraft up close and in person and happen to be in the Dayton, Ohio, area, you’ll want to visit the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. I have been there many times. It’s one of the most amazing places on the planet and is family friendly for those that want to bring their children. However, leave your ghosts behind. This place seems to have enough of its own.
On several occasions when I visited the AF Museum without my family, I took some time to do some investigating. Although UFOs were the primary target of my research there, I was surprised at how many civilian employees and active duty military personnel associated with the facility told me their ghost stories.
Most of the stories I heard centered around historic aircraft and objects. For example, an employee named Joseph told me about an experience he had near an exhibit about General Doolittle’s bombing raid on Japan during the early days of World War II. A pistol that Doolittle carried on the raid was a part of the display. Joseph says that he saw a strange glow near the weapon at night. He also heard mumbling noises and became quite ill until he backed off from the area.
Josh, another person associated with the museum, told me about hearing strange noises and seeing orbs near the POW exhibit. This area has a long history of being haunted and considering the subject, it would be almost expected. He also mentioned the infamous B-24 known as the Strawberry Bitch. He says that it’s been one of the most haunted aircrafts in the place.
One of Joe’s co-workers that I will call Melissa says that she and others have seen full body apparitions, unexplained lights and heard odd noises inside and around the World War Two Liberator. She claims that the guns of the B-24 occasionally rattle without explanation and says she and others have seen odd vapors floating around the outside of the aircraft.
One of the strangest things that I saw on display at the Air Force Museum during the 1990s was a painting recovered from Hitler’s Office in Germany after allied forces arrived in Berlin. It showed members of his staff (identified and unidentified). It didn’t surprise me to hear that the painting was surrounded by paranormal activity. Orbs were seen around it and lights meant to illuminate the painting would mysteriously burn out.
It’s fair to say that the very size of the Air Force Museum makes it a place where all kinds of noises, reflections of lights from within and without and other factors can make the place appear to be haunted. Despite these possible reasons for some of the allegedly paranormal activity, there are many things that happen and seem to defy convention explanation. Perhaps TAPS will take the time to investigate the AF Museum on some future episode.

Hello my name is Tyler Johnson and I recently stumbled upon your site while looking for answers to my dreams and unusual thoughts.
I am 19, born in January of 1989. I live in California. I am of Native American, Mexican, Spanish, Swedish and German descent, from largest percentage to smallest.
There are things that have happened in my life that I cannot understand, and I hope I could have a moment of your time so I can figure some issues out.
Starting around age 7 I would say, because neither I nor my parents really can remember earlier, I had constant nightmares almost every week. My mom told me I would go into a fit and ask her to hide me away from them because they were coming to get me. They took me to a doctor, who quickly dismissed it as night terrors and too many video games. However I have never really been a fan of violent games until I turned 17 or so. The "terrors" never really went away, but became more and more realistic. When I had these nightmares when I was young all I remember was seeing lights and silhouettes. My mom would take me to the bathroom and try to snap me out of it by telling me to go pee. When I would wake up I'd feel really dizzy and almost sick. Sometimes I would get rashes on my thighs after the incidents.
For about a couple of years I never really had any bad incidents at night, until about 16 I think. (Now granted I don't remember the exact dates and such, but I did keep a little book about some of my nightmares). After turning 16 I noticed I'd have very realistic futuristic dreams where I would be commanding a group of humans against machines or aliens or even humans, however in my dreams we didn't call them humans. I don't remember what we called them to tell you the truth. I know this might just seem like I have a little too big of an imagination, but last night I had a very very life-like dream. I woke up sweating and standing next to my bed. Yet again I was fighting with men, however all the men were killed and the things we were fighting were definitely not human. They looked like crocodiles standing. This is the first time I have ever seen this type in a dream.
And Tonight as I was walking home from my girlfriends house, I kept getting a feeling that someone was watching me from behind me, however there was absolutely nothing so I kept walking. When I turned on to a different street I noticed a bright blue light blinking quickly from an empty lot on the road. It was weird because people walked by it and didn't even look. I'd say it was the size of a tennis ball and I was standing probably 15 or 20 yards away. After walking towards it, the light shot up in the sky and disappeared.
Every time I look up at night, I get this weird feeling like I'm being watched from up there. I dunno what the hell is going on, but I hate this feeling I get. Sometimes I wake up at night and the window is open and the screen is out, however I swear I did not open it. My dog sometimes whines in my room at night, and the dog we used to have during my "terrors" would go crazy and wake everyone up before I would have them.
I hope you don't think I'm just messing with you, it's just I'd like to know why I always feel like I'm being watched and I have these dreams where I'm chased and blinded by lights. I've also started to get the same rash on my thighs again. We've been to three skin doctors who have no idea what it is.
Thanks for your time.
